Roadworks- The road is in a fair condition. Maintenance works are continuous throughout this route. Stop/go controls will be in operation with delays of less than 5 minutes at a time. Rehabilitation has commenced between Kloofeinde and De Brug. Expected date of completion is November 2012.
- Free State, Kroonstad- Blomfoentein:
N1-A contract for repair and reseal between Zandkraal (just south of Verkeerdevlei Toll Plaza) and Winburg is in progress with stop/go controls in operation. Motorists should be alert to pedestrians and heavy vehicle activity in Ventersburg, where an urban speed restriction is in place. Expected date of completion is September 2014. The road will be realigned and traffic will be accommodated through parallel roads adjacent to the N1. Ad-hoc stop/go controls will be in operation.
